20 years after the rise of King William Parlfrey to the throne in Sylmora a group of adventurers gathers in the northern region of Claddath, home to the tribes descending from the Acharyai “those who came from the stars”.
A few generations ago, the situation of the region has changed dramatically as the noble house Hereford lead an army of mercenaries and minor houses and enstablished the fortified city of Narsileon. From there, they explored the northern area and followed the Swift River until they found a massive plateau encrusted with ice. Ignoring the warnings from the Aruhn Chap’til “the guardians of the house”, the Claddath rangers guarding the place that their people call Ta’agra or “the sacred city”, the foreigners started to delve into the ruins, bringing out treasures and wonderous items.
Eventually another city was founded close to the plateau by lady Alexia Hereford, sister of Iskander who rules Narsileon. The two are on a cold war and have different attitudes towards the natives.
When Kenneth, priest of Cernunnus, the god of nature, and his bodyguard Mael arrived in Narsileon, they soon found someone who could help them into delving inside Ta’agra, hoping to protect the land from the threats that the opening of the city poses. They met Uranus the necromancer, the drawf brothers Orim and Ofbir, and a beautiful elf-sorceress called Cristal. An halfling smuggler called Rosekelly hired them to guard his boat and they reached the town of Gosterwick ruled by lady Alexia. Unfortunately on the way to the city, a pack of ghoul hunted them and almost killed Cristal. She managed to survive, but her leg has been badly damaged and she is almost unable to keep up with the rest of the party, if it weren’t for the phantasmal mount summoned by Uranus.
Inside the ruined city, they found the glacier completely melted and the ruins now standing on the open air. Inside a zigurrat they found a staircase descending down and started to delve into the halls of Ta’agra. Not surprisingly they found there a band of halfling controlling the entrance and demanding payment from the adventurers coming inside. After subtle threats from a magic-user amidst the halfling gang, they decided to pay and obtain an “exploration license”. But they plan to have soon a revenge on the greedy halflings…
